Master of Arts in European law (LLM)

The LLM awarded by the College of Europe has an outstanding reputation. It is valued inter alia by international law firms and European institutions. It offers excellent job opportunities at national, European and international level.

In the first term, all students attend compulsory courses giving the basic tools to deal with the law. In the second term, students have the possibility to specialise in a wide range of seminars. On top, a number of compact seminars is organised throughout the academic year. Moreover, each student will participate in the programme of European General Studies programme. The individual curriculum will be subject to the language rule.

Admission Requirements

Students applying for the European Legal Studies programme must hold a university degree in Law and master the two working languages of the College, English and French.

Our Alumni Network

During the Career Days at the College of Europe, the Careers Office invites international law firms to interview and recruit the current students. During the study trip to the European Institutions in Brussels and Luxembourg, the current students have the possibility to network with alumni.

Tuition Fees

The fees for the general programme of 25.000 € cover tuition (tuition, registration, examinations) and board and lodging (accommodation, wireless internet, meals except lunch and dinner on Sundays and public holidays).


Approximately 70% of College of Europe students are granted scholarships by their government or by public or private institutions. Check the website.
